Results from Flagler Beach, Florida.

The FBA started its 2010 season with a great event in a beautiful sunny day in Flagler Beach, Florida this past May 22nd.
The competitors were very excited to get this contest going as we are expecting to make few changes during this season. As always, this event had a great vibe and good attitude from all those that were attending.

For the first time, Flagler Beach was the setup for the season opening event, perfect timing after a long and cold winter season. Weather offered the best conditions, sunny sky, high 80s and good refreshing waters. Even though the waves were not as its best, size was good enough for the riders to show their talent. 2-3 ft waves was the order of the day, but these guys proved one more time, that, Bodyboarding in Florida is as strong as ever.
We had the opportunity to see some good maneuvers; Inverts, forwards, Rollos, even ARS, giving us a good taste of solid Bodyboarding.

In the DK division, Devin Ricke took the first place and also his award for the 2009 FBA Season Champion in DK division. Steven Tyson came on top for the AM division and Carlos Jenkins joined the MASTERS division for the first time to take 1st place also.

In the PRO division, the fight was good. All competitors were setup in MAN ON MAN heats, going through different rounds until last 2 standing. Brian Holloway took 1st place, while Dan Worley got 2nd Place.

Bodyboarding in Florida is starting to take off in the right direction and now, working together with the USBA, the sky is the limit. Many of FBA riders will be competing at the US OPEN of Bodyboarding, taking place in Huntington Beach, California for the largest Bodyboarding event in US mainland in a long time. The FBA is a proud partner of this event.

Ryan Rhodes in ESM & Outer Banks Results.

Ryan Rhodes, North Carolina, was featured in Eastern Surf Magazine (ESM), Issue 144. His interview can be found in the "Who Da Guy" section on page 72. Mind everyone, ESM is primarily a stand-up surfing magazine ... so props to Ryan for holding it down for bodyboarding!
In other news, Ryan took second in dk at the Outer Banks Shootout while fellow CX rider Jason Woodall snagged third. Find the full story and photos at ESM. Follow the link: Full Story.
